Feet reading- Window to the Soul
The soles of the feet reflect the physical and the emotional state of the body. By looking at the characteristics of the feet, we gain an insight as to how that person perceives themselves from an emotional perspective. We can identify areas that may be causing stress in their life, thereby identifying the root cause of dis-ease.

Here lays a pair of feet showing inner turmoil and struggle. The redness and yellow tinge represent frustration and indignation….possible towards herself.
The feet themselves, and the toes, are quite compact representing feeling contained. This is the inner turmoil of being torn in two directions. One fear of revealing who she really is and one of feeling frustrated that she is not quite able to be herself.
There is a change... from past (right foot) to present (left foot.). The past is more suppressed and angry, especially around the necks of the toes. The right, (present) is a little less red and the toe as are beginning to spread.
This indicates that she is calming the mind slightly and allowing herself to look at a wider picture. She is beginning to allow others to see who she truly is, with out always feeling she needs to protect herself, or put up a wall. As this person recognizes her strengths and her skills, she may stop tormenting herself, by believing that she does not measure up to others.
As this person recognizes the unique skills and gifts she possesses, and acknowledges herself for them, she will then allow herself to shine. Her focus needs to come from looking within for her truth and unique purpose.
I would recommend the crystal rose quartz for self love.
As she is more gentle and forgiving of herself, then she will be more gentle and forgiving of others. Remember, you are a gifted and unique being armed with all of the skills you need to fulfill your dream. Recognize who you are.
If you would like your feet read on our newsletter, please send a feet photo similar to the one above and include a measurement of the soles of each foot, plus your body height. Please understand that by doing so you are giving permission for these photos to be used for educational purposes. No names will be used.
If you are interested in learning to read the feet or would like your feet read in more depth then you can book a Feet reading Harmony experience. We also have one day workshops available.
The Perfect Harmony Aura Protection
The “Aura Protection” Flower Essence is a blend of seven essences created for opening the chakras, while at the same time bringing the element of protection to the individual. To provide an overall protective spiritual and psychic barrier and to bring a general balance to all the Chakras, it’s important to meld the individual Chakra essences together in one perfect, harmonious blend. This month we give special mention to the Heart Chakra, as this encourages unconditional love and concerned protection.
Chakra 1 Root ~ Sage (Salvia officinalis)
The Root Chakra’s quaint essential quality is to anchor our spirit in reality. Sage Flower Essence brings us a sense of stability and inner strength to address just this need.
Chakra 2 Sacral ~ Rhododendron (Rhododendron alba)
An apt flower to use for balancing and opening to our blessings is the beautiful Rhododendron Flower, an essence to enhance one’s creative potential.
Chakra 3 Solar Plexus ~ Sunflower (Helianthus annuus)
This is the seat of personal power and individual worth. The Sunflower shines its quality of light upon the individual and helps to restore a sense of owning one’s power for the good.
Chakra 4 Heart ~ Jade Plant (Crassula arborescens) & The Rose (Rosa rugosa)
For Unconditional Love & Protection
Our Jade Plant Flower (Crassula arborescens) is the shield, or protector, of the Heart Chakra. It is a haven where self-love, joy, unity and peace can all meet. This strong essence protects the purity and innocence of the heart by filling it with bliss and abundance. If you look around, you will see that Nature’s heart is green, her life force and healing energy are green. The Jade Plant’s two-fold green wisdom provides for us a deep knowledge of abundance and self-sufficient prosperity.
For the pure and gentle spirit of the heart itself, The Rose (Rosa rugosa) allows us to feel a depth of love, first for ourselves and then for others. It allows the heart to be easy and to connect to the spiritual realms in a relaxed and secure way. It’s an encouraging essence that is best used in the heart of nature herself, where you will find peace, where your own heart will be nourished, in relative silence. The Rose will show you something very needful: it will bring you whatever makes your heart sing so you can radiate warmth, joy and unconditional love. That is the result of a balanced heart chakra.
Chakra 5 Throat ~ Gardenia (Gardenia jasminoides)
The Flower essence for this chakra is the Gardenia (Gardenia jasminoides), as it provides needed assistance to cancel any fears of voicing our viewpoint, expressing our needs or stating our opinions.
Chakra 6 Brow or Third Eye ~ Tibouchina (Tibouchina urvilleana)
This purple beauty brings us to be aware of the unique contribution we make to the universe, the value of our intrinsic beauty, and the special worth we have as spiritual beings in a physical body.
Chakra 7 Crown ~ Lotus Flower (Nelumbo nucifera)
Lotus Flower (Nelumbo nucifera) is indicated for the Crown Chakra because it can act as a spiritual elixir or harmoniser of the higher consciousness, helping the soul open to its own divinity.

~*~Thought for the month
“Vulnerability is a strength, not a weakness. Do not fear it. To truly feel your aliveness, be aware of yourself and yet allow your heart to be open. Be vulnerable to the joys of life-let them in.”

Eight Chemicals in Skin & Hair Care Products You Should Never Use
Listed below are 8 chemicals on the “most wanted” list - the 8 chemicals we most want to see OFF labels of skin & hair care products. Avoid these harmful, toxic chemicals & remember - “Informed people make informed choices.”
Start reading the ingredients labels on your personal care products.
1. Propylene Glycol
This is a cheap, synthetic petrochemical used as an emulsifying base in creams & lotions to make the skin look smooth, but ultimately it ages the skin faster. The Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) tells you to avoid skin contact with it because it’s a skin irritant! It can denature the skin’s protein leading to poor, saggy skin. It can be absorbed through your skin & potentially cause allergic reactions & liver & kidney damage.
2. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)
This harsh, caustic detergent is used because it’s cheap & sudses well. It is used as an engine degreaser & garage floor cleaner but you’ll also find it in shampoo, soap, facial cleanser, etc.
Research shows that SLS has a degenerative effect on cell membranes & denatures protein such as in hair or skin, leading to aged skin & poor hair. SLS can corrode hair follicles & inhibit hair growth, contributing to hair loss. SLS also has the potential to cause cataracts through skin absorption, even without direct eye contact. It can denature the protein of the eyes & delay healing time. From skin contact, SLS can be absorbed into your circulation & concentrate in your organs, such as your heart, liver or brain. This is potentially dangerous since SLS is a mutagen, capable of changing the information in the genetic material of your cell & organs.
3. Fragrance
When the word “fragrance” is listed on a label, it means a synthetic fragrance made in a test tube from any of over 200 synthetic chemicals. These “fragrance” chemicals can bioaccumulate in your organs & cause of many common complaints such as headaches, lung problems, skin irritation, dizziness, memory impairment, rash & more. They are very cheap, toxic imitations of real herbal scents.
4. Mineral Oil
This cheap, petroleum based oil clogs & enlarges the skin’s pores leading to poor, saggy skin. It decreases the ability of the skin cells to exchange nutrients & waste products. Those allergic to petroleum products may develop skin irritations.
5. Parabens (Propyl, Methyl, Butyl, or Ethyl)
These cheap preservatives are used to inhibit microbial growth in skin care or hair products even though they are known to be highly toxic. They have been the cause of many allergic reactions & skin reactions.
6. Imidazolidinyl & Diazolidinyl Urea
These are the most commonly used preservatives after the parabens. They are an established cause of contact dermatitis (American Academy of Dermatology) & release formaldehyde which is toxic.
7. Synthetic Colours
Synthetic colours are used in skin creams & shampoos to make them colourful. Avoid them at all costs, along with hair dyes (with the exception of some henna products). They can cause allergy, skin & nerve problems. Synthetic colors are labeled as FD&C or D&C, followed by a number & color.
8. Triethanolamine (TEA)
Often used in the base of a product & to adjust the pH. TEA causes allergic reactions including eye problems, dryness of hair & skin & can be toxic if absorbed into the body over time.

Massage and Pregnancy
During pregnancy, a woman’s body undergoes many changes, some of them stressful and uncomfortable. Massage is a perfect way to relax, increase your energy, relieve discomfort during your pregnancy and promote general well being.
The Benefits of Massage During Pregnancy:
Massage during pregnancy not only relieves the tensions and discomfort caused by the extra weight and the shift in your body's centre of gravity, it also reduces swelling, calms the nervous system, reduces fatigue whilst enhancing energy.
During your massage your body awareness becomes more noticeable which means you can easily identify tension areas and consciously release them.
It increases circulation, carrying energy producing nutrients to your cells and eliminating metabolic waste products that can cause fatigue. This means greater vitality and less fatigue for mothers and better nourishment for your baby.
By aiding circulation, massage eases the load on mother’s heart and helps to keep blood pressure in check.
Relief of muscular and joint pain caused by supporting extra weight. It relaxes tense muscles and tones loose muscles, and can also increase muscular flexibility. Flexibility will be most helpful during the last trimester and during the birth itself.
Massage helps to soothe and relax nervous tension, which helps the mother sleep more easily and more deeply. A relaxed mother will have a happier, healthier pregnancy and possibly an easier childbirth experience too.
Reduction of fluid retention.
Provides relief for headaches caused by stress, excess toxins and constipation. Decreases progress of varicose veins with enhanced circulatory stimulation.
What you need to tell your practitioner:
Massage is healthful and enjoyable during a normal pregnancy. However, because massage is not appropriate for some conditions, it is important that you tell your massage therapist about your general health and your pregnancy, and any symptoms that you may be experiencing even if you don’t think it is relevant. Tell your massage therapist if you are having any problems or complications with your pregnancy before you begin. If you are, then your therapist will require approval from your primary health care provider before proceeding with any treatment.
During the Massage:
With pregnancy massage you will be comfortably supported with pillows and cushions. You will be adequately draped with sheets/towels everywhere except the part of your body being massaged. An unscented lotion or vegetable oil is best to use as a lubricant, since many pregnant women have an aversion to strong odors. The massage is done in a quiet area away from phones, traffic and any other disruptions. Soft and soothing music is played and can add to your relaxation and comfort. Massage can be performed anywhere from 10 minutes to one hour, depending on how much time you have and how much discomfort you are experiencing. In all, be sure to always ask questions about massage in general or your session in particular.
1st trimester – You can lie in any position, on your stomach, on your back or in a side-lying position.
2nd- 3rd trimester – After the first 22 weeks of pregnancy, lying flat on your back can cause pressure on deep blood vessels, thereby reducing circulation to you and your baby. Therefore, you can lie on your back in a supported semi-reclining position, or in a supported side-lying position, or you can also have a relaxing massage in a seated position.
Self- care during Pregnancy:
Besides the immediate relief you obtain from a massage, you can also learn ways to make yourself more comfortable.
During pregnancy, relaxation exercises, deep diaphragmatic breathing, relaxation cds and visualization can help you feel more relaxed and help with insomnia.
Self-massage – Your massage therapist may show you general but gentle abdominal massage, which is usually very enjoyable for the mother and the growing baby.
Reduce leg cramps by performing circulatory exercises of the foot before bed. These include performing active range of motion movements of the ankle, toes and knee. Stretching exercises and massage for the calf muscles can also relieve cramp.
Management strategies for varicose veins: Avoid excessive weight gain, avoid standing still or crossing legs, avoid tight clothes around upper legs and waist, elevating feet and legs when sitting, performing gentle passive range of motion exercises of the ankles and knees, wearing support tights if veins have already developed.
Strengthen the pelvic floor muscles to reduce the frequency of urination or incontinence.
Resist the passage of urine.
Release in short, 3-5 second long, bursts
While sitting up, imagine doing this action (maximum 10 reps)
Eventually, perform (2) while sitting or standing.
During pregnancy your whole body is adapting to the new life growing within you and you will face many significant life changes. Your health and vitality has never been more important than it is right now. The physical and emotional changes of pregnancy can be stressful and regular soothing massages will relieve physical symptoms and help you cope with stress.
